Methane Gas Recovery Electric Power Plant - Burlington.,
NJ
CEG provided design
and construction management services for the installation of the $10 million
- 7MW power-generating plant. The plant will convert what is normally
waste methane gas produced by the landfill to usable electricity. Built
at the site of the Resource Recovery Complex in Mansfield, Burlington
County, it will produce enough power to run all landfill operations as
well as extra electricity that will be sold for profit. CEG was also responsible
for:
Preparing a contract
with the NJBPU for a $4 million grant to subsidize the project as part
of a "Renewable Grid-Connected Electricity Offering."
Providing consulting
services required to develop Interconnect agreement with the PJM.
Negotiating
with power plant developers to build, operate & maintain the plant.
Prepare a power purchase
agreement.
It is estimated the plant
will produce $15 million over the next 15 years by selling excess electricity
and eliminating the landfills annual electric bill, $572,000 in the year
2002.
